The 6^th Tour of Taihu Lake, regarded as the “world’s fastest race” thanks to its uniquely flat profile, welcomed the best sprinters from 20 teams hailing from ?xml:namespace>China and abroad. As the primary sponsor of the race, RANKING Helmets provides the leader jersey wearers the light, colorful and reliable helmets that are popular among the cyclists.

Five professional teams, Amore e Vita of Ukraine, Banco BIC-Carmim from Portugal, Torku Sekerspor of Turkey, Gusto from Taiwan, Chinese Gansu Sports Lottery Quick and China Wuxi Jilun arrive at the start line, ready for an intense contention for honor. Among them, remarkable sprinters Matthia Gavazzi (Amore e Vita) and Ahmet Orken (Torku Sekerspor) have won stages in Hors-Catergory races in China before, both of them ranked high at the opening stage.

The very first stage spanned 113km, the circuit brought last year’s Best Young Rider, Australian Jesse Kerrison up onto the top of the podium, “I have made a lot of progress from last year, I am able to win with confidence now”, said the promising 20-year-old. Competitive Alois Kankovsky and Boris Shpilevsky completed the podium, proving their dominance at fast stages. China’s superstar Wang Meiyin unsurprisingly won the Best Chinese title and was awarded with a red RANKING helmet.

Active in supporting potential amateur riders, RANKING helmets congratulates ZGL team’s MTB rider Shi Zongkang and road specialist Pu Xiaohui ranked second after a high-speed competition.
