The Most Colorful Reward for the Winners

The 5^th Tour of Taihu lake features high speed, therefore has attracted top sprinters from around the world to Eastern China to battle it out towards the end of the season. RANKING Helmets accompanies the contour as the sole helmet sponsor indispensable to the safety of the professional cyclists. Jersey winners have been given the bright-color and ultra-light helmets, 6 out of the 20 squads braved the challenging 1085km of 9 stages having unique team issues of RANKING Helmets on their heads.

The overall winner Samuel Witmitz from ?xml:namespace>Australia emerged as the team captain after winning stage 3 and topping the GC since then. Describing Tour of Taihu Lake “a very fast and stressful race, and also my favorite race”, the race leader brought home both the green jersey and the orange jersey with huge cheers from the audience.

Given the beautiful red helmet representing passion and the color of China, it was the local favorite Wang Meiyin who proved to be the unbeatable leader among riders from Greater China.

Proud to Be the Best

This year’s Tour of Taihu offered not only for the established fast men opportunities to earn honor, but also for the motivated young riders room to grow and stage to shine. Among the 32 young riders from 14 countries, it was worth noting that Turkish Ahmet Örken (Torku ?ekerspor) and his teammate Fatih Kele? finished the race top 2 and 5. 

Being regarded one of the most promising star in Asia Tour, Ahmet Örken was top 8 finishers for 6 times, made it to the third place at 1 stage, and wore the blue jersey for one day. The Turkish team leader’s hard work had paid off. Thanks to the efforts in the daily breakaway and great results,  Torku ?ekerspor impressed the contour by finishing 5^th per team classification.

Excited to Be Among the Fastest

Hailing from Italy and three stage wins previously in China, Mattia Gavazzi of Amore e Vita team led the race on his no.1 rider plate, made it to the third place at stage three. With a young and fast team, Amore e Vita ranked 6^th out of 20 teams after the 9-day race.

RANKING is pleased to have witnessed Team Gusto being awarded the best team in Greater China, Portuguese Banco BIC-CARMIM fought aggressively in breakaways at each and every stage, and the local teams of China Wuxi Jilun and Gansu Sports Lottery Quick were among the active teams in the bunch.

As for most of the teams the season officially ends at Tour of Taihu Lake. RANKING Helmets appreciates the recognition and tight connections from both professional cycling teams and the race organizers who have jointly put together moments of thrill and honor in the year 2014. RANKING Helmets keeps on supporting cycling sport around the world.
